8 months and Happy Thanksgiving!!

Time is flying!

Quinny celebrated his 8 month birthday on Thanksgiving.  He is such a doll and his personality is really starting to show though now.  When he smiles he smiles with his whole face.  He has the cutest mischievous grin.   He is belly crawling all over the place and starting to get into everything.  This baby never stops moving, even when he's being held or nursed he is on the go!  Still no teeth in there but has been chewing a lot lately (then again, he's been chewing a lot since he was about 4 months old so who knows??).

I walked over from making dinner to find this sight -

Caleb teaching Quinn the finer points of Angry Birds!  A moment before this he was using Quinn's finger to launch the catapult, but I didn't have the camera ready fast enough, and all too soon C's sharing mood was gone in favor of winning!

Here, Quinny, play with a grocery bag instead!  I need to beat this level.

And because apparently all of our children are destined to be beer drinkers like Daddy...

they learn at a young age to try to steal his bottle when he's holding them.  (I swear the bottle was empty and he didn't actually drink any, despite what the photos seem to show!)

Acorns

 I found this cute snack idea on the ridiculously addicting website Pinterest and decided it would be a fun and easy treat for Thanksgiving.  Kisses, Nutterbutter minis and a chocolate chip, with some melted chocolate "glue".

Root Beer!

Last year we bought the kids a root beer making kit for Christmas.  We made once batch then put it away and kind of forgot about it.  Today was the day for batch #2!

Snuggle break

Mixing the flavor syrup with water and giving it a final shake.  After this it goes into those bottles on the back counter and sits in the pantry for 3-7 days to let the yeast carbonate the root beer.  No pics of the final result but it was YUMMY!!!  Root beer floats with homemade vanilla bean ice cream.

Experiments

Every once in a while, Daddy will see something on TV or online and decide to experiment.  Today's experiment was making a mini hot air balloon out of a trash bag.

Unfortunately, this one never really got off the ground.  The bag was too heavy and it was a little too windy outside so we ended up with a singed bag that levitated for just a few seconds.  Hot air balloon 2.0 is sure to be a success, though!
