The Norders go to Disney!

We found out in late February that Mike was going to be attending a work-related conference on Disney World property in mid-April and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to make a family vacation out of it!  We decided to keep it a secret from the kids until the night before we left.  While it was a HUGE challenge to implement, it made it so much fun!The kids knew we were going to do something as a family that weekend but were guessing things like hiking, going out for ice cream, etc.  It was fun nnouncing it to them at dinner Friday night.  I had consulted with their teachers about make-up work for school and they suggested having the kids keep journals so I made up special Disney World Journals for both of them and after dinner told them, "I told your teachers about our fun family weekend and they thought it sounded like a lot of fun!  In fact, they want you both to keep a journal and write all about it!"  This was, of course, met with whines and grumpy faces, and even after presenting Journals with Mickey Mouse on the cover they still weren't catching on.  It took us telling them READ THE COVER a few times before aleb finally asked if we were going to Disney World.  And even then they both were really confused since we rarely take big trips.  It wasn't until we fully explained getting up at 5:30, getting on a plane, flying across the country, and being gone for a week that they finally got it.  Then they were too excited to fall asleep!

We arrived in Orlando mid-day Saturday and decided to keep it low-key.  Our conference ticket package included a visit to "Disney Quest", which is just a big fancy arcade in downtown Disney, so we had dinner and headed there to check it out.  This is the only pic I got all day!
