Ending summer with a "bang"!

I can't believe I forgot to post these pictures last month!  These will explain Caleb's first day of school pictures, if a little after the fact!

We headed to the pool the final afternoon before school started for one last day of fun with some friends.  We had a fabulous time and stayed far later than we had planned.
Unfortunately, summer really did end with a bang - quite literally!

Take a few over-excited boys playing a little rough and this is what happens when one face has an untimely meeting with a plastic pool gun.

Thankfully it looked worse than it was once we got all the blood cleared and found all his teeth still in place!  He gets to start 3rd grade with his first ever "fat lip" but a popsicle (make that several popsicles over the course of the evening - it got really swollen!!) and a hug from sis made it all better.
